Sheath Fault Location (City & Guilds)
Introduction
This course is intended to train the people how to operate the Hagenuk KMT T 32/2 Sheath Test and Fault Location Equipment in accordance to Safety Rules for the purpose of sheath pressure testing, pre-location and pinpointing of sheath and/or core faults.
The pre-location is of Voltage Drop Method, an alternative method to the travelling wave techniques which might have difficulty in H.V. single core cross-bonded cable system.
Pinpointing by Step Voltage Method is normally for sheath faults but it is also applicable for very low resistance to ground core faults which have failed the acoustic method.
