Building and Commissioning an Electrical Substation (TNB Contractors)

Introduction

The objective of the course is to provide theoretical and practical training regarding the process of building a Division Substation up to 22kV, from the procuring of the substation to successfully getting the substation on the grid. The focus will be 80% practical and 20% of theory and case studies. The course will refer to the latest manual and guidelines used by TNB on the building of substations.

This course is beneficial for those who are involved in the building and commissioning of a fully functioning substation as participants will learn how to do so correctly and safely.

TESTING AND ASSIGNING CIRCUIT BREAKERS

  • Perform IR Testing, Continuity, CRT, Power Frequency Withstand Test & Vacuum Interrupter Test

TESTING OF SWITCH TOOLS AND PPVR

  • Test Equipment Setup and Safety Measures
