IEC 61850 Smart Grid Protocol
Introduction
IEC 61850 Standard is an international standard for Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) at electrical substations. The objective of this course is to leave participants with a deep comprehension of the IEC 61850 Standard and its implementation in TNB. Substation automation is the next step forward, and most legacy and obsolete Substation Control System (SCS) will be replaced with IEC 61850 architecture. This update in hardware will result in a reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and flexible obsolescence mitigation.
After the three day course, participants will know the IEC 61850 Standard inside and out. Participants will also visit an IEC 61850 substation for on-site learning.
