AUTHORISED ENTRANT & STANDBY PERSON FOR CONFINED SPACE

Introduction

Working in a confine space is an activity that can expose a person to a very risky situation that can cause injury or even death. In most cases that cause of death is due to inhaling of toxic gas or oxygen deficiency or even explosion. These incidents generally revealed a lack of safety measures and disregard of the OSH regulation by both the employers and workers themselves. The reason amongst other are due to lack of training, not competent in safety management, cost cutting with personnel cutting corners to get the job done on time and within budget and the lack of knowledge and experience working in confined space and unaware that toxic fumes can kill.

OSH Act 94 or Safe Working in a Confine Space has been enforced to ensure worker safety. The code of practice clearly spelled out employer’s responsibility to formulate confined space safety program such as permit to work, rescue and training of personnel. Confined space training for authorized entrant & standby person is specially formulate to provide the training of supervisory and management staff to fulfill these safety requirement for workers as required in the Code of Practice for Safe Working in a Confined Space.

The course definitely helped in improving concepts. It would be great if you add more examples of templates for Training evaluation. This would help in creating better sheets in future. Thanks
