Low Voltage Jointing Practices
Introduction
This course objective is to upgrade cable jointers knowledge to become a competent Low Voltage (LV) jointer. As a competent LV jointer, it is a must to know and practice the safety and health practices at work site. Jointers must be able to explain the construction of underground cable up to 1kV.
This course can help the jointer to have a better understanding on the cable components and types of cable used in TNB Distribution. The basic theory for joints and terminations are also included in this course. Therefore, jointer will be able to identify the characteristics of cable joints and terminations, and the most important is identifying the critical parts on joints and terminations. Thus, jointer will be more cautious while performing the cable joints and terminations at site.
Cable testing demonstration and practical hands-on is also included in this course to help jointer performing the cable testing at site. After performing cable preparation, straight through joint and cable termination at feeder pillar, participant will be evaluated to become a competent LV jointer.
