At the beginning of this training, the participants will be exposed to the theoretical part of the meter. After that, they will do the practical part in the metering lab. By doing this approach, it will increase their understanding, confidence level and competency of metering system in TNB network.

A picture says a thousand words;- this course of infrared thermography helps participants to harness IR technology to visualize thermal performance, show thermal anomalies, verify fault and quantify them with precise non-contact temperature measurement.

Infrared is NOT a “point and shoot” device as many IR manufacturers would like you to believe! Participants shall understand fundamentals behind infrared devices to use it appropriately. Erroneous technique and interpretation has very little value and gives Infrared thermography a bad name.

Here at ILSAS, IR training lesson will be reinforced with actual hands-on attempted by for participants themselves. All theory will be correlated to relevance to on site inspection. The training will be complete with not only examination but also a real live practical IR inspection at a TNB substation and a comprehensive report.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be:

  • Able to operate an Infrared (IR) Thermography camera to find thermal anomalies
  • Able to interpret an IR image correctly to find real fault
  • Able to execute proper reporting & documentation with correct IR emissivity & reflected apparent temperature
  • Able to understand heat transfer & basic thermal science
