Overview:
This course is primarily designed to provide the necessary technical knowledge, skills and attitude required to effectively manage, operate the test system and locate the partial discharge faults location in underground cable insulation, joints and termination system up to 33kV. The course methodology emphasized on theory of partial discharge, practice and “hands-on” OWTS training at ILSAS where the training facility is well equipped.  The conducive training environment, integrated with well-designed training structure (module) will facilitate training and coach participants to achieve the objective and learning experience. Participants are highlighted to the subject on partial discharge phenomena and functionality of OWTS. This is further enhanced with practical and “hands-on” testing to locate the partial discharge activity in underground cable insulation, joints or termination. After the data is obtained from the test conducted, participants will be trained to analyse the result and prepare report.

Objective:
Upon successful completion of this course, the trainees will be able to:
*      Explain the principal and functionality of the Oscillating Wave Test System
*      Explain and identify the OWTS components and their functions
*      Perform a right step and procedure to conduct the OWTS testing on site safely
*      Analyse and interpret the data obtained during testing
*      Produce and prepare the report
