Project Management: Stakeholder Management

Project Management: Stakeholder Management
Project Management

Overview:
This Stakeholder Engagement workshop incorporates an advanced management simulation – full immersion experiential learning – that provides realistic scenarios in a complex project context for the participants to deal with.

It has been well documented that the difficulties associated with managing complex projects are very often “human”, as opposed to technical. Numerous research reports and project reviews point to reasons such as: lack of senior management support, bad communication between relevant parties, lack of consensus on objectives, etc., as the primary causes of project delay and failure. That ability to maximize "buy-‐in", co-‐operation and approval from key stakeholders is increasingly a critical skill for the 21st Century Project Manager.

Objective:
Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to:

1. List down stakeholder needs.
2. List down how stakeholders impact your project.
3. Know how to deal with multiple stakeholders with divergent interests.
4. Understand how to manage stakeholder expectations, including quality and performance expectations.
5. Understand the need to communicate your strategy to the project team, the customer, and other project stakeholders.
6. Resolve conflict and competing priorities.
7. Manage project public relations and organisational politics.
8. Contain expectations through effective status reporting and progress meetings.
