In larger electrical power transformer, for proper voltage regulation of transformer, on load tap changer is required. As there is no permission of switching off the transformer during tap changing. The tapping arrangement, is placed in separate divertor tank attached to electrical power transformer main tank. Overview:

Peserta kursus lebih memahami keperluan akta elektrik 1990, peraturan-peraturan elektrik 1994, akta keselamatan dan kesihatan pekerjaan 1994 seperti yang dikehendaki oleh kerajaan. Peserta kursus akan didedahkan aturan keselamatan elektrik TNB (Bahagian Penghantaran) terutama semasa menjalankan kerja kerja pada radas voltan tinggi.

Peserta juga diberi penerangan mengenai ‘authorisation and competency procedure’. Langkah-langkah keselamatan ini diperlukan oleh anggota kerja Penghantaran kerana anggota terdedah pada sistem voltan tinggi setiap masa semasa berada di dalam pencawang atau kawasan talian voltan tinggi.

Peserta kursus akan mematuhi garis panduan keselamatan untuk mengelakkan sebarang kemalangan elektrik di tempat kerja.

SF6 Gas Management and Handling

Overview:
One of the most common applications of Sulphur Hexafluoride (SF6) gas is its use as an arc quenching medium and insulation in electrical equipment. SF6 gas provides exceptional electrical insulation and superior arc quenching capabilities due to being chemically inert, non-toxic, and non-flammable and having a high level of chemical stability.

These excellent properties of SF6 gas is the reason for it to be widely used in the power industry. In Malaysia, SF6 gas technology based electrical equipment is widely used across the generation, transmission and distribution sectors of the power industry.

Under the Kyoto Protocol on the Climate Change Convention, SF6 gas is one of six greenhouse gases which the ratifying parties have agreed to commit to reduce through an agreed country specific greenhouse gas reduction target.

TNB in-line with the Malaysian Governments new Green Technology Policy and its own “Growth, Global and Green Plan” initiative has developed a training module on SF6 gas management and handling.
Objective:

• Achieve zero SF6 gas emission to the environment.
• Better manage and handle SF6 gas.
• Handle new and re-use SF6 gas according to IEC standards.
• Measure SF6 gas quality using gas analyzer.
