This course will provide an overview of the high voltage excitation system applications, primarily focusing on the firing angle of excitation systems. The training methodology is theory and group discussion, where the participants will be actively involved in the class activities. Course participants will be able to analyze case studies and best maintenance practices specifically for large power station generators.

The course introduces the basic principles of generator and transformer protection scheme in power plant. The targeted audience of this course are power plant electrical engineers and technical supervisors whose jobs involve in the maintenance of power plant electrical system.

This course covers the basics of generator protection principles and the dynamics of synchronous generators. Typical faults and abnormal conditions will also be discussed during the course. The training methodology is theory and group discussion, where the participants will be actively involved in the class activities.
