PI DataLink

•  OSIsoft's PI DataLink provides a link between the PI Server and spreadsheet programs running on Microsoft Windows platforms. With PI  DataLink, a user running Microsoft Excel or Lotus 1-2-3 can exchange information directly with the PI System databases. This feature, combined with the functionality of the spreadsheet programs themselves, make PI DataLink a powerful and easy-to-use tool for gathering, analyzing, and reporting PI data.

What Is PI ProcessBook?

•  PI ProcessBook is a sophisticated PC tool for displaying plant information stored in the PI System archives and other sources. The PI Universal Data Server may be thought of as a database of measured or calculated values for each of the points established for discrete data sources in your process or facility.
Objective:
PI DataLink  -  At the end of the course, trainee will be able to apply  basic  modules  for  PI  System  -  PI  Datalink  and ProcessBook successfully.

PI Process Book  -  Utilize the PI Process Book and enables users to create dynamic, interactive graphical displays into their daily task for reporting and analyzing.

Governor Fundamental And Droop Analogy

Overview:

The course main focus is frequency stability in power generation. By attending this course, participant will understand basic information on speed governors and their application for power system control.

In order for the electricity to be transmitted safely and efficiently it must be at high voltage (pressure) and a low current (flow). This is because if the current is too high, the line would heat up to much and even melt. If the voltage were too low, hardly any energy would be carried.

The device which controls the speed of a prime mover is called governors. Governors vary prime mover output (MW) automatically for changes in system frequency (speed). Participant will understand type of governors and fundamental of governors working principle. Trainer will guide the participant how to calculate droop setting and effects of differential droop setting to power generation.


Objective:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Recognize the function and importance of governor for prime mover
• Identify the differential between ‘Speed Sensing Control’ and ‘Speed Droop Control’
• Determine importance of droop control frequency control in the National Grid System
• Describe the function of Droop Control for load sharing between prime movers
• Explain the differential between ‘Primary Control’ and ‘Secondary Control’ in the National Grid System
