Overview:
This course is designed to explain the basic criteria for provide better understanding of the philosophy and principles of industrial radiography, radiation safety and protection; create awareness on biological effects and the risk of ionizing radiation. Learn the right procedure when dealing with ionizing radiation, acquire the techniques and proper procedures in controlling the radiation exposure to the radiation workers and explain the regulation of radiation protection and legislative requirements.
 
The training format is theory and practical, where the participants will be actively involved in the class & practical activities. Hence, it will increase their confidence level.

Participant will be taken through the vast experience of industrial radiography procedure and performance by the trainers. The emphasis is on participants continuing participation in ensuring the ultimate success of the course.
Objective:
After attending this training program, participants will be able to:

In-situ And Machine Shop Balancing (Practical)

Overview:
This course will cover basic to rigid rotor shop balancing subjects such as unbalance types of Static, Couple & Dynamic, balancing speed & critical speed, flexible & rigid, shop balancing. Participants will learn also Machine Shop balancing setup & operation via hands on work on an impeller of a single stage pump & a small turbine rotor using 2 plane dynamic correction.
 
Participants will learn how to calculate ISO 1940/1 standards, namely the common G6.3 & G4.5 grading of Permissible Residual Unbalance. Also covered are how to combining weights, and splitting weights at designated balancing locations.
 
Also touched are vibration signature analysis to determine genuine unbalance affected machinery. Participants will learn how to setup and read key phaser and vibration probes to perform single plane balancing in-situ using polar charts and vector calculations. All training is hands on with real rotors at our workshop.
Objective:

  • Able to explain Static, Couple, & Dynamic Unbalance
  • Able to perform machine shop 1 & 2 plane balancing
  • Able to calculate residual unbalance under ISO 1940/1
  • Perform In-situ balancing using a vibration analyzer & single plane vector trial weight method
  • Able to identify characteristic of actual unbalance dominant vibration signatures

Overview:

This course is designed to improve participant’s know how to observe best operation practices for effective operation. The trainers will guide and facilitate the participants through examples of some operations common problems.

Participants shall be introduced to diesel engine and gas turbine in a typical power plant along with their respective auxiliaries and working principles. The trainer will guide participants on some of the common problems in the operation of both units and trouble-shooting will be also discussed.


Objective:

• Explain the best operation practices in Diesel & Gas Turbine Auxiliaries.
• List down the common problems encountered during operation of both the plant’s auxiliaries.
• Explain the steps taken for basic troubleshooting on the problems encountered.
• Make a chart on Common problems – Causes – Action taken.
