This course is established in order to offer better understanding when dealing with single core cable management which include the recommended safe installation and laying practice. It is a must attend for personnel involved with single core cable laying and installation. This course begins with highlighting the distribution underground cable profile to enhance knowledge and skill required when handling this cable. Knowing, the special features in this cable design, the techniques of cross bonding is introduced in order to have a safe and reliable network system. Furthermore, this course provide the necessary technical knowledge on safe handling of single core cable, perform sheath test and sheath repair. Case studies and on how to avoid potential problems due to poor cable management are discussed. Failing to observed and abide to the recommended practice would result in cable sheath fault which would require sheath fault location and eventually sheath repair. Consequently, delays in project commissioning and costly indeed to the utility.
