Overview:
This module covers the diagnosis of post fault in the Distribution Network and restoration of supply thereafter. Hence, understanding the nature of fault, the protection system, protection scheme, and protection equipment employed, the types of relays used are of utmost importance in system fault diagnosis.
The careful observation at the Relay & Control Panel of relays operated together with the associated switchgears, the type & fault current registered at protective relays, the accurate reporting of events post fault, isolation of faulted circuit or equipment and restoration of supply forms the gist of this module.
Objective:
*      State and explain the protective system, protective scheme and protective equipment in 33kV Distribution Network
*      Diagnose different types of faults in the 33kV Distribution Network
*      State and explain the function and  device numbering & code of protection relays in Main Distribution Substation
*      State and explain the TNBD Work Instruction & Circulars related to post breakdown, isolation of faulted circuit and restoration of supply

Overview:
Emphasis of this 5 days module is live 33kV switching for planned outages. Theory lessons include procedure writing i.e. given a certain task, the correct switching procedure and sequence must be written in accordance to requirement of Energy Commission Malaysia and TNBD Safety Rules.
The practical lesson is where the actual task is carried out. All safety aspects must be adhered to in performing the task i.e. the use of personnel protective equipment, proof testing of high voltage measuring equipment before and after usage, non-standard lock, caution & danger notices, locking & tagging techniques, rubber mats, testing for zero voltage prior to engaging Circuit Main Earth, communication between Controller and Authorised/Competent Person and issuance of written instruction to carry out work safely.
Objective:
*         Operate 33kV Air & Gas Insulated switchgears
*         State & explain the need for locking & tagging with relevant notices
*         Write switching operation procedures & sequence for planned outages of 33kV distribution system as required by Energy Commission Malaysia, TNBD Safety Rules, TNBD Circulars & Work Instructions
*         State & explain the use of high voltage indicator and phase comparison equipment.
*         Perform live 33kV switching operation in accordance to rules by Energy Commission Malaysia & TNBD Safety Rules.
*         State and explain the certification system in high voltage switching

Overview:
This 3 days module covers the introduction, applications and system related to 33kV distribution networks. Emphasis is on a typical 33kV Main Distribution Substation, its related components and interconnection. The training format is theory and practical, where the participants will be actively involved in the class activities and practical lessons at the 33kV training simulator. Theory lessons include network configuration, types of substation, electrical clearance, transformer ratings, transformer On Load Tap Change Control, substation earthing, and calculation of ohmic value of Neutral Earthing Resistor. 
Practical lessons include tracing of the Single Line Diagram of the simulator, modes of operation of 33kV AIS & GIS switchgears, functional tests of On Load Tap Change on power transformers, function of AVR, voltage setting & bandwidth, measuring of resistor value of Neutral Earthing Resistor and Control & Interlocking system.

*                  Describe the Primary & Secondary Components In Main Distribution       Substation
*                  Explain & describe the operation of 33kV Air & Gas Insulated      Switchgears.

*                  Explain & describe the function and components of Relay & Control        Panels.

*                  Explain & state the function of DC & AC supply in Main Distribution          Substation
