Overview:

In this training program, participant will be introduced to transmission planning department which responsible to carry out short, medium, and long term planning for generation and transmission network in order to ensure safe, adequate, secure, reliable and economic operation of the Peninsular Malaysia supply system.

In order to familiarize participant with transmission network grid, our subject matter expert from National Load Dispatch Centre will explain their roles especially control engineers which responsible to dispatch power generated across the grid in order to ensure that demand and supply balance in real time, ensure the safe, reliable and economic operations of the National Grid system in real time and ensure the reliability of the Grid system to survive certain critical system disturbances or contingencies e.g. failures of generation and transmission facilities.


Objective:
After attending this training program, participants will be able to:

• Discuss and modelling Transmission Planning System
• Explain and demonstrate the electrical Power in Transmission System

Overview:

The importance of monitoring the performance of power system has increased in recent years. The evaluation of system disturbances has become more complex and the monitoring of equipment’s performance has become essential for power system reliability. Prior to the application of recording devices, monitoring and fault analysis relied mainly on relay operations, which sometimes led to inaccurate fault analysis due to the uncertainty of the correct relay operation. Effective fault analysis reduces down time and increases the availability of the transmission equipment. All participants will be given the theory, practical exercises on the real events, notes and international papers on the related topic.

 


Objective:

After attending this course the participants shall be able to:

1. Define Fault and Disturbance Recorders
2. Describe the application and utilization of recorders
3. Distinguish the difference between conventional and modern techniques in fault analysis
4. Define the basic protection philosophy for fault analysis

Overview:

This is a preparation course to convert from CP to authorize person. The subject covered such as:

Safety and Working Clearance, transmission electrical safety rules, electricity act 1990 (act 447), direct contact, indirect contact, touch voltage, step voltage.

The diffrence between safet y/ section clearance and working Clearance as per TNB Safety Rule, Ground clearance (outside subtation, such as road crossing), minimum clearance ,clarify the terms, eg: basic electrical clearance, working clearance for overhead line, barriers and roping arrangement for area of work.

The understanding primary equipment & interlock – focus on case study, function, rating, and operation issue, operational procedure which is related to switching - (Live and Non Live) and etc.

Others are management instruction, switching check list (Live Transfer), PTW issuance, Preliminary check at switchyard & Control room (kV, A, MW).

 


Objective:
After attending this course:

• Participants will be able to apply safety and working clearance following Electrical Safety Rules & Act.
• Participant will be able to explain Permit to Work issuance and Work Authorization procedure.
• Participants will be able to describe Single Line Diagram, Auth. & Switching Procedure correctly.
